HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Printer keeps showing "Improper Shutdown"  and "Paper Jam" messages. I have looked online and followed the suggestions:  I've cleaned all accessible rollers and followed online support on resetting by unplugging cord when printer on leaving for over 3 minutes, unplugged from wall socket, pressed power button to discharge unit, but still not clearing. I understand there's a hard reset option that might work but need help in how to do and access as display panel will not allow me to enter the menu's.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a paper jam error and you want to reset the printer.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.
