I just purchased an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 283FDW.  I cannot get it set up due to an error message "Incompatible supplies"  This is very frustrating and I have searched the entire community on HP Support and GOOGLE.  Nothing has worked.  I've done the whole reset and cleaned the sensors.  This shouldn't happen with a brand new printer with HP toner cartilages that came with it.

Hi@Scarlett1103,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Power resetting the printer, cleaning the toner electrical contacts and updating the printer firmware may resolve the issue. Please try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your toner cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Clean the electrical contacts, refer to step 4 from this document.

5) Plug the power cord back into the printer

6) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the toner cartridges.

7) Use the steps available here to update the printer firmware.

Let me know how it goes!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

These solutions did not work.  My printer still says "Incompatible Supplies"  I've even tried NEW HP Toners.  VERY FRUSTRATING!  This is a brand new out of the box printer ordered from HP.com and it doesn't work.
