Hi, I have a very old (10+ years) HP Photosmart C4480 Printer/Scanner that hasn't been used in a few years. I'm trying to get it set up for my work-from-home situation and gave it fresh ink cartridges (purchased directly from HP), and when I replaced the cartridges, I got an error message saying the black one was incompatible. I tried the troubleshooting tips (cleaning connectors with distilled water and a lint-free cloth, etc.) and I'm still getting the error message. I know there's a chance that my printer might simply be at the end of its life, but if there's ANYTHING I can do to fix this and not have to break down and buy a new printer, please let me know!

If you insert your old ink, do you get the error message?
