I have been using these same (non-HP) cartridges I purchased from Amazon for a about a month - I had no issue using them until recently. One time I powered my printer back on, I started receiving the error "Indicated cartridges blocked for containing non-HP chip." Currently, my printer is useless and I have no other reasonable alternative to print.
Please let me know how to fix this problem. I've had this printer for about 3-4 years and have never had this issue.

We are coming up on a month, and there's been no reply... Even though all of the necessary settings have been adjust on my printer to prevent it from blocking "unauthorized" cartridges, the firmware update you forced on my printer has rendered my $600 printer useless until you reply with the appropriate solution - not to mention the $250 I spent on ink and didn't get to use because of your update.

I understand you're unable to print using non HP ink cartridges
I recommend you update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website with the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
The third-party ink cartridges will work. But there are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.
Hope this helps!

I have the same issue. Toner from same company for years without an issue. Today, I can't print. As you suggested, I checked the firmware level. Printer is running 2339A which your site says is the latest and greatest. All was good until this update happened. Printer is anM479ftw. How does this get fixed.
