I just bought the HP Officejet Pro 9120e and the ink cartridges that came with the printer will not snap into place.  They keep popping out.

Hi @Division8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Double-check that you are using the correct ink cartridges for your HP Officejet Pro 9120e. The correct cartridge model numbers should be mentioned in the printer's user manual or on the packaging.

Inspect the cartridges: Take a close look at the cartridges for any protective covers or tapes. Sometimes, new cartridges come with protective strips or covers that need to be removed before installation.

Check the cartridge slots: Inspect the cartridge slots in the printer to make sure there are no obstructions or foreign objects that could prevent the cartridges from snapping into place.

Proper alignment: Ensure that you are aligning the cartridges correctly with their designated slots. Follow the guidelines provided in the printer's manual for proper alignment.

Apply gentle pressure: When inserting the cartridges, apply gentle and even pressure to make sure they are securely seated. You should hear a clicking sound when the cartridges are properly installed.

Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues and allow the cartridges to be recognized properly.

Update firmware/drivers: Check for firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website. Updated firmware may address compatibility issues and improve overall performance.

If the issue persist, We recommend you to replace the cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
