I have a wireless HP OfficeJet 5258 printer and an HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 10.  Some time ago, I tried to install a firmware update package, which I was notified about in my HP Support Assistant app.  The install was unsuccessful and I ended up with some error message.  From that moment on, the printer has not produced a readable printout.  Neither b/w nor color are printing, other than for small chicken scratch marks.  At that time, I tried to correct the situation but gave up and went back to using my trusty Epson printer. Now, months later, I am trying to tackle the problem with the HP printer in depth.  I've tried to install updated print drivers and utility software without success.  I've downloaded HP's Printer Doctor and its troubleshooter without success.  I've tried too many other things to try and remember here.  I can say that one of the last messages I received was an error codes 2753, which suggests there could be a problem with the software I'm trying to install.  I am a computer-illiterate person, so I get confused easily.  I am completely frustrated by an apparent HP-caused problem that I am unable to fix.  Any idea what I can do?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
