Product: DeskJet 2700
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have just bought a DeskJet 2700 and am trying to install it  on a Windows 7 64-bit PC using the latest offline drivers (HPEasyStart-12.8.9-DJ2700_51_2_4771_1_Full_Webpack.exe) but it fails to install with the details: "cabinet file DJ270x64.cab has an invalid digital signature".  I'm no expert but it looks like the file was signed with an out-of-date certificate.

 

Has anyone successfully installed using the above installation file?

 

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

The file is signed and working on Windows 7 PCs, operating system issues may cause such an error.

 

As a start, I suggest going to the Control Panel > System > Windows Update.

 

What is the dialog color (e.g Red, Yellow or Green) and when did the latest updates were installed for your computer? an outdated operating system can easily result such behavior.

I guess that's my problem.  I had to take the PC off the internet back in '19 when MS started rolling out Windows 10 in such a forceful way that the only way to stop the upgrade was to use End Process through Task Manager.
