OfficeJet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have installed this software just fine on 5 other systems and each one sucessfully created the fax device.  On this one system during the install you can see the green processes indicator showing the installing fax but when done there is no fax device in the devices and printers page.

I have tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor this had no effect.  I went thought and deleted all HP installed printers, removed the drivers via the control pannel, made sure the drivers were removed via print server properties.  Rebooted and tried again and still no fax device for this printer on this one system.  I did notice that the driver for the fax "Fax- HP Officejet Pro 8620"  is not installed even tough the install of the printer went sucessfully.

How can I get the fax driver installed and make this printer fully functional on this one system?

Hi,

Install the HP Universl Fax Driver, that should resolve the issue:

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=7529320&swItemId=ds_146586_2&swEnvOid=419...

  1. Download HPUFDDriver.zip to a directory on your hard drive.
  2. Extract the zip file by right clicking the saved file and selecting Extract All, then follow the steps on screen.
  3. Go to the directory where you extracted the files.
  4. Look for Setup.exe, right click it and select Run as Administrator to begin installation.
  5. Follow on-screen instructions.

Once you are done print to the HP Universal Fax Driver print queue, follow the steps on screen to fax nd check the box to create a seperate queue for your printer, that will add an additional Fax - HP officjert Pro 8620 queue.

Thank you for the information.  The fax driver installed.  It was able to find my Officejet 8620 when I fax printed to it.  Didn't notice any changes but when I right clicked on the fax driver queue there was two queues listed.  One for generic fax and the other assocated withe the printer. I thnk I am good.  Thank you!
