I am having problems printing from my iPad and occasional problems printing from my lap top running Windows 7.
I have carried out every test and reboot suggested and it appears the only option to try and fix this is to uninstall and re install the printer programme.
I have used the HP Scan Doctor and it directed me to the website for the latest software but for HP 5514. My printer is HP 5510.
I cannot find software for HP 5510
Is the software for 5514 is the correct one for my 5510 printer?
Also in the past I have had problems with uninstalling programmes - I go to the control panel and uninstall. Is there a better way of doing it?
I assume I uninstall before I re install?
A step by step guide would be helpful.
Thanks

Hi @Newbi3,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you wanted to know if you need to disable the anti-virus and anti-spyware programmes to install the printer software.
No, it is not required to disable the anti-virus and anti-spyware programmes to install the printer software.
You may install the full feature software from the link: Full Feature Software and Driver
Let me know if this works.
You have a good day ahead.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I understand you need help with reinstalling the printer drivers/software,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you attempted to remove the software and reinstall it from the HP Website? or was it a 3rd party website?
That said, If it's a step by step guide you need, here's what you need to know:
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click here to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it.
Let me know how that pans out

Thank you for this Riddle-Decipher
I have a printing problem and if I can’t solve it I think I may need to install and reinstall the printer software to see if that works.
It was the HP website I looked at. The 5510/5515 isn’t listed, it directs me to another number (see my post) so I would have difficulty knowing that I was installing the correct software.
Is it ok to download the software it directs me to, namely 5514e all in one printer B111h?

Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
Yes, you could try that, however, if that doesn't work, the next best thing to do,
is to install the windows built-in drivers: Click here for details.

Thanks for the suggestion if the Windows built in drivers. If I have to resort to that I’ll have to get first hand help.
Could you answer anothe question please. I have been told tha before I attempt to reinstall the printer I should disable the anti virus and anti spyware programmes.
is this correct and again if I have to I’ll have to get first hand help.
thanks

Thanks Rainbow,
I’m just making sure I know what I need to before I take the plunge.
I can still use the printer at the moment for limited printing g and as I have some pressing work to do I’ll wait until I finished that before uninstalling/re installing the printer.
I’ll let you know when I have done it.
