I am unable to register my  new HP Smart Tank 5100 as the serial number is invalid.

My serial number has 10 digits, with no '0's or 'O', '1's or 'I's. The last digit in my serial number is a '9', all the examples of serial numbers I see on the HP websites end with a letter. 

I've tried replacing the last digit (9) with a V which makes my serial number acceptable to register, but it's not the correct number. It would appear that HP need to update the registration to accept valid serial numbers.
