HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer

The user manual to my HP 8610 Officejet Pro gives directions for printing iron-on decals, but the caveat is that they can’t be printed on Inkjets with heating elements. Does the above model have a heating element?  Thank you!

There are 2 types of heat transfer most popular.

One is iron on heat transfer you can use iron to transfer to t-shirt and you can use OJ 8610 for printing on that because it uses heating element in printhead but that doesn't have effect on final product.

The 2nd one is sublimation. That one you can't use because sublimation and heating element in printer doesn't work together very well. It will work but the final product will be awful. It's not recommend to use sublimation on OJ8610 because that printer uses heating elements.

So if you want to sublimate you can't use OJ8610.

Thank you!  Does scanning or copying capability require that a printer has a heating element?

On that printer model, a heating element is used to "spray" ink on paper.
