I purchased an HP OfficeJet 8015e printer yesterday. While attempting to install printer driver on WIndows 11 laptop - got a fatal error message. The HP virtual assistant, without my knowing it, told me I'd be called by a tech person immediately. I was connected with someone who, it turns out works for US REPAIRS. Does HP no longer have in-house tech people?
What is the relationship between HP and US REPAIRS.
Thank you.

I think @NonSequitur777 has answered this nicely here. Basically it is not related to HP
You were incorrectly advised. I have no idea how it happened but I suspect a malicious link on a web page provide unknowingly (I hope) by BING or GOOGLE.
If English is not your native language or if you wish to get additional information not covered below, then use the HP and Microsoft support assistants. The latest HPSA supports 36 languages and can be downloaded here. Microsoft's AI assistant is in the latest Windows 10 and 11 releases and there are instructions here on how to enable the AI. Microsoft's AI assistant (Copilot) has a microphone button and supports natural language processing. |
You may need to reset the printer: video here
Wi-Fi setup to router with smartphone (hp smart): video here
For Wi-Fi direct setup see page 34 click here.
or watch this video
This is useful if there is no modem or you to not want to use the modem/router.
Install app click here to download
Printer Reference 8015e
Let me know if you have a flex system (Wi-Fi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated when using the router type of connection.
The WPS push button method of router connection may be easier
WPS pin for connecting to modem/router:
Press the setup button Select Wi-Fi setup Chose OK and scroll for the WPS PIN Make a note of the WPS PIN code |
This video might help but is it 8020 type.
