HP OfficeJet Pro 6975 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

just bought a envy 6032e and noticed no power button at the front.

is it recommended to keep the printer on all the time and let it go into idle mode or do people still switch of when not in use as the power button is on the rear and my printer is on a shelf which is not easy to get to power button.

Thanks

Hi @Effer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're looking for information related to your printer.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

It is generally recommended to keep modern printers like the HP ENVY 6032e powered on and allow them to enter idle or sleep mode when not in use. These printers are designed to consume minimal power in standby mode, ensuring they are ready for quick use while being energy-efficient.

Turning the printer off frequently isn't necessary and may lead to additional ink usage during the startup cleaning cycle. However, if you won't be using the printer for an extended period, such as weeks or months, you can turn it off to save energy and avoid potential wear.

Since your printer is on a shelf and the power button is difficult to reach, leaving it on in idle mode is practical and aligns with the manufacturer's design intentions.
