- Is my printer too old to be compatible with my new-to-me lap...

I recently had to get a newer laptop because the hard drive in my old one died and wasn't salvageable. The laptop I bought is a 2015 Macbook Pro using Monterey as an operating system. I have had my printer since 2007 and it has worked like a champ ever since. All of a sudden it is not connecting to my new-to-me laptop and with the research I did it seems that maybe the printer is too old to be compatible with my 2015 Macbook. Is this correct? So I will be forced to get a printer that is compatible even though this one is perfectly functional (and I recently bought new black and color ink for it). Additional support from HP ended in 2015 so I am hoping the community here can help or give insight before I get a new printer and find a new home for this one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did all those steps and unfortunately it didn't work. I think my printer is just too old to be compatible with my newer computer. Appreciate you taking the time to share this suggestion though.
