Apple Mac
macOS 10.12 Sierra

We have purchased a HP Envy 6430e printer but it will not connect to an Apple Mac . We have tried the various solutions suggested by HP Support.  The Mac OS is 10.12.6.

Is this printer compatible with that system?

Hi,

The printer is compatible with macOS 10.12 using AirPrint and can be used to print and scan as following, but you won't be able to activate the printer from your Mac as the HP Smart app is supported on 10.13 or later versions/

First, to enable HP Plus activation follow below steps from a supported computer or mobile device (Windows 10, macOS 10.13 or later, iOS, Android)

HP+ OfficeJet printers - Setup Using HP Smart App (Windows 10, MacOS)

HP+ OfficeJet printers - Setup Using HP Smart App (Android, Apple iOS, IPadOS)

Only after completing the HP Plus activation, add the printer to your macOS 10.12 to print and scan using AirPrint:
