Good Day. Thank you for taking an interest in the HP community. I understand that you require assistance regarding issues with printing and installation errors. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Superb analysis and great observations made. It is amply appreciated.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly:
- Did it occur after a software or windows update?
- Did you make photocopies directly from the printer?
I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:
- Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m25-m27-series/9365411/model/9365413/docume... and follow instructions from the section “Step 2: Reset the printer” :
Then make 2 copies directly from the printer without any communication from the computer eliminate hardware issues with it.
If it copies correctly then perform a root level uninstallation and reinstallation of the printer drivers by following these step by step procedure:
- Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
- Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
- Go to devices and printers, in the control panel and select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
- Click on print server properties.
- You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
- Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
- Restart the PC.
- Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
- Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
- It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
- If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
- Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
- Restart the PC again.
Then download the latest full feature driver from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m25-m27-series/9365411/model/93... and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
This should fix the issue.
- Otherwise, install the basic drivers from the same link used to download the full feature drivers.
- This should nail it for you.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

I read your super quick response. Thanks for accepting this as a solution. Your amazing skills and temperament are greatly appreciated.
For the windows platform please try to perform a push-button reset of windows from this link: http://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c04742289after backing up your important data.
Then reinstall the printer drivers. This should do the trick.
For Mac perform these steps:
remove the printer and add it again as an Apple AirPrint printer and not as an Hp printer.
Run all latest updates on the Mac OS.
If the issue continues, then assign a manual IP address and Google DNS to the printer by following these steps:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to the "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says, “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says, “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Restart the printer and then router once done.
This should resolve it.
Thanks and have a blessed year ahead. Stay healthy and smile big. 🙂

Thank you for the long description but it seems that I have a problem with deleting the HP printer drivers listed in print server properties in devices and printers. It can't be deleted so when I do the rest of your instructions it doesn't change anything. Please help 🙂
