Please ensure that the printer and Mac has the latest updates
Printer Firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
Mac update: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541
Next remove and re-add the printer using Airprint
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print
Let me know how it goes😊

Hi Shlomil,
I followed the steps as suggested by you, but in the printer drop drop downlist I dont see the ML1666, its 2011 year model. I don't even see any Samsung printer in the drop down list, I am blocked could you please help me to fix this.
Printer Name:- Samsung ML-1666 Laser Printer.
=============
Let's try installing below drivers:
Download the file to your Mac, right-click (Or CTRL + Left Click) and select Open, then complete the installation wizard.
Power on the printer and ensure it is connected, then open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and press the plus sign.
Select your printer, then select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu and press the Add button, then try printing.

SchlomiL Thanks!
I have the Mac mini with the m1 chip and this worked great for the 6500 a plus printer, and now I am able to scan.
Just like to add that when installing the printer, you can't choose AirPrint, instead choose de OfficeJet 6500, and then even the picture of the printer is different (black instead of the white with no scanning options).

Thanks for the link,
worked perfectly for HP LaserJet P1108
initially nothing worked, even the official driver for my Mac Pro M1 2020 dec model
official driver doesn't even install, but this driver package will install successfully, just keep the printer connected and ON, being a mobile app development company its important that we provide full support to our developers on all devices including printers be it old on or not, we know its tough to maintain and make the drivers compatible after many years, but then that's wt is expected from a renewed company like HP
Sciflare Technologies Pvt Ltd

Thanks for link
worked perfectly
initially tried all methods, but didn't work
just download this package, ensure printer is connected and switched on, install perfectly
Having a Mac Pro M1, dec 2021 model, nothing else works,
being a software dev company we know how tough its to maintain a piece of software, but the official drive should be working and its expected from a org like HP
hope its updated soon by HP folks.

Hi, I am trying to install my Officejet all in one 5600, I downloaded the full set of drivers for the Apple M1/Big sur. It works, it lets me install the right driver, but the printer goes in error -- any help?
Everything is up to date and the printer works perfectly on another Mac/intel/Catalina
Thanks in advance,
Alessio
