My print desk jet 2548 does not show any activity but just 3 lights indicator

Thanks for sharing the photo, I can see your HP DeskJet 2548 showing three indicator lights illuminated near the bottom, while the display itself is blank. That pattern usually signals a printer error or initialization fault, not a normal standby state.

 

Power reset

With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.

Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect and power on.

 

Check cartridges

Remove both cartridges.

Clean the copper contacts gently with a lint‑free cloth.

Reinsert firmly until they click.

 

Try one cartridge at a time

Insert only the black cartridge > power on.

If the error persists, swap and test only the color cartridge.

This identifies which one is faulty.

If one light stays on after testing, that cartridge needs replacement.

 

Update firmware (optional)

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
