Since my laptop being upgraded to windows 11, I am having issues printing spreadsheets.  On the screen it fits to an A4 perfectly but when I print it out, it looks like it's shrunk the page and doesn't fit the whole A4 sheet.

Hi @Debbie230,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the issue you’re describing is likely caused by a mismatch between the scaling settings in Excel and the printer's settings. Here are steps to resolve the problem:

1. Check Page Layout in Excel

  • Open your spreadsheet in Excel.
  • Go to the Page Layout tab on the ribbon.
  • Under the Scale to Fit group:
    • Set Width to "1 page."
    • Set Height to "1 page."
  • Preview your document using File > Print to see if it fits the A4 size properly.

2. Verify Paper Size in Excel

  • In the Page Layout tab, click Size and select A4 (210 x 297 mm).
  • Ensure the document's margins align with A4 by going to Margins and selecting "Normal" or a custom margin that works for your layout.

3. Adjust Print Settings in Excel

  • Go to File > Print.
  • Under the Printer Properties:
    • Ensure the Paper Size is set to A4.
    • Ensure no scaling options like "Fit to Page" or "Shrink Oversized Pages" are enabled unless you intend to use them.

4. Update Printer Driver

Since the issue began after upgrading to Windows 11, ensure your printer driver is up-to-date:

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Search for your printer model (HP Smart Tank Plus 570).
  • Download and install the latest driver for Windows 11.
  • Restart your laptop and printer after installation.

5. Check Printer Default Settings

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Ensure Paper Size is set to A4 and check for any scaling options that might shrink the content.

6. Test with a Different Program

Try printing the same document as a PDF:

  • In Excel, go to File > Save As or Export > Create PDF/XPS.
  • Save the document as a PDF and print it using Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF viewer.
  • If it prints correctly, the issue might be Excel-specific.

7. Repair or Reinstall Excel

If the issue persists and only occurs with Excel:

  • Repair Office:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
    • Select Microsoft Office, click Modify, and choose Quick Repair.
  • Reinstall Office if the problem isn't resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
