Hi @Salma610,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry you're going through this, especially with a brand you’ve trusted. A printer that keeps turning on and off (a power cycling loop) is often caused by a firmware glitch, hardware fault, or power supply issue. Since it’s only a couple of months old, please try a few steps and let us know.
1. Power Reset
- Unplug the printer from the wall.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
- Turn it back on.
2. Check for Firmware Update (if it stays on briefly)
- If the printer stays on long enough, try updating firmware via the HP Smart app or printer menu:
- Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
- Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
3. Disconnect from the Network
- If the printer is connected to Wi-Fi, try turning off your router temporarily.
- Some printers loop due to network-related firmware bugs.
4. Remove External Devices
- Disconnect any USB drives or cables connected to the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
