Product: Jet Direct EN3700

I'm trying to use an EN3700 USB Jet Direct on a Laserjet 1212 but:

 

  1. I can't get it to respond to the button that should dump the config to the printer.

    I'd tested them last week with a Brothers; they were fine there and we upgraded the firmware.

  2. HP claims the SN:xxx9A5 is invalid. But they uploaded new firmware into it,
  3. I've looked for a Fine Manual for the 3700 but have found only a generic one that does not mention the two LEDs on the cover and what they mean.
  4. There's a JetDirect Admin tool that might help but I can not find the download URL for it.

Suggestions?

There is a list of compatible HP printers for Jetdirect and M1212 is not on that list.

Any idea why HP does not acknowledge the SN?

 

Is the Jet Direct Admin tool still available? If so, where?

 

And what do the LED's on the 3700 indicate?
