Hi @Rosebud1948 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue where your computer cannot connect to your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e and the printer appears offline typically stems from network, driver, or printer configuration issues. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
Step 1: Check Printer and Computer Connection
Ensure the Printer is Connected to WiFi:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings, and ensure it’s connected to the same WiFi network as your computer.
- If the printer is not connected, reconnect it to the network using the correct WiFi credentials.
Check the Printer’s IP Address:
- On the printer, print a Network Configuration Page. This will show the printer’s IP address.
- Confirm that the IP address matches the network your computer is connected to.
Step 2: Restart Devices
- Turn off your printer and unplug it.
- Restart your computer.
- Restart your router by unplugging it for 10-15 seconds, then plugging it back in.
- Turn the printer back on and wait for it to connect to the network.
Step 3: Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
- Uninstall Existing Printer Drivers:
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select Remove Device.
- Download and Install the Latest Driver:
- Visit the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e Driver Page (or search online for "HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e driver download").
- Download and install the latest HP Smart App or Full Feature Software and Drivers for Windows 11.
- Re-add the Printer:
- After the driver installation, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners > Add a Printer.
- Select your printer from the list or manually enter the printer’s IP address.
Step 4: Set the Printer as Default
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click on your printer and select Set as Default.
Step 5: Disable Printer Offline Mode
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select See what’s printing.
- In the menu bar, ensure that Use Printer Offline is unchecked.
Step 6: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP Support website.
- Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix connection issues.
Step 7: Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings
- Ensure your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer.
- Temporarily disable the firewall and see if the connection is restored.
- If the printer works, add the printer as an exception to your firewall settings.
Step 8: Reset Network Settings on the Printer
If none of the above works, reset the network settings on your printer:
- Go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to your WiFi network and repeat the steps to add it to your computer.
If the Issue Persists:
- Confirm that the printer and computer are both connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network (some printers don't support 5 GHz).
- Test the printer with a USB connection to verify its functionality.
