HP ENVY 5020
macOS 10.14 Mojave

WHY after upgrading to the above does my HP Smart application hang?????

I can still Print but I can't open the app to scan!!!! This is SO FRUSTRATING. I find HP really hard work.

[Personal Information Removed]

When I need to scan I press scan on the Envy 5020 and it says visit 123.hp

WHAT DO I DO?????? I have clearly wasted money and I can't scan because of the recent Mac OS UPGRADE. REALLY?????

@RanjanDG, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Have you tried alternate scanning methods like Image Capture or HP Easy Scan? Refer to the document HP Printers - How to Scan (Mac) for help.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

You can try to remove and add the HP smart app. Follow the steps below:

1.) Open Finder and click Applications

2.) Move HP Smart App to Trash and clear the Trash.

3.) Open Finder then click Go and Click Home.

4.) Click View then Click Show View Options. Check the box Show Library Folder.

The change is instantaneous and the Library folder will immediately become visible.

5.) Open Library and Open Application Support, move the HP Smart folder to Trash and clear the Trash.

Now, refer to the document HP Printers - Install and Use the HP Smart App (Mac) to configure the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
