Why would HP on the driver page for the LJ P1606dn printer https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-p1606-printer-series/4110408/model/... list the firmware for the 1600 series as datecode 20200617? When it's not!
I kept getting firmware is up to date when I ran the HP_P1102w_P1109_FW_Update_20200617 file. It wasn't until I extracted the entire update package that I could see only the 1102w and 1102w2 are 20200617 datecode, all the others in that package are 2015 or older.
In hindsight, it's rather obvious when you read the filename once it's downloaded. It's just aggravating that HP couldn't take the time to include the datecode for the 1606dn's firmware 20150114 ON the 1606dn's download page.
Obviously, there's no fix the community can offer. I just wanted to vent.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thanks, SS, for extracting and examining and answering the same question I had today when updating a P1606dn from the so-called 2020 package. Good subject line, too. Now instead of being puzzled at the result, I can be angry at the incomplete documentation.
