Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I do not have access to an internet connection to print wirelessly so am trying to set up wifi direct printing however my laptop cannot discover my printer. I have put my laptop right next to the printer but it still cannot find my printer. I have tried to find it by typing in the ip address etc from the network configuration page I printed out but I still cannot find the printer. What am I doing wrong??? I need to be able to print as I have to work from home due to COVID-19 😞
