Hi @paulamikesh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP LaserJet MFP M140w is compatible with macOS, but there may be challenges finding drivers for older versions like macOS High Sierra (10.13), as HP's latest drivers and software are often optimized for newer macOS versions.
However, you can try the following steps to install the driver.
Check HP's Website:
- Go to the HP Software & Driver Downloads page.
- Enter "LaserJet MFP M140w" in the search bar.
- Select macOS as your operating system, and see if there's a driver available for macOS High Sierra (10.13).
Use HP Easy Start: If the specific driver isn’t available for your macOS version, download HP Easy Start from the same page, which should help automatically detect and install the compatible driver.
Apple AirPrint: If you can't find an appropriate driver, the HP LaserJet MFP M140w also supports AirPrint, which allows you to print without the need for specific drivers. You can use the following steps to set it up:
- Open "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
- Click the "+" button to add a new printer.
- If the printer appears in the list, select it, and under "Use," choose AirPrint from the drop-down menu.
Alternative Solutions: If the printer isn't recognized, try downloading older universal HP drivers that may still work with your model on High Sierra:
- You can try searching for HP LaserJet Universal Print Driver for macOS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
