When I print a multi-sheet Word document double-sided in book-fold format, the pages are in the wrong order. This was never a problem on my older Windows 7 computer; just started with new Windows 11 Home computer, with the HP LJ Pro M402-M403 n, m, dn, dne Printer Series PCL 6 V3 Full Solution drivers. I've tried different settings in Printer Properties but get the same results. If I have a single sheet with four book-fold pages, the duplication works, but with multiple sheets the order is wrong. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi @louix,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When experiencing issues with duplex (double-sided) printing in a specific order, especially when transitioning to a new operating system like Windows 11, it often relates to driver compatibility or settings within the printer software and the document handling application (in this case, Microsoft Word). Given that the HP LaserJet Pro M402n printer worked well with your previous system, the problem might lie in how the new driver or system interprets print commands, particularly for complex printing tasks like book-fold documents. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Update Printer Driver and Firmware: Ensure that your printer's driver and firmware are up-to-date. HP regularly releases updates to improve compatibility and performance. Visit the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest drivers and firmware specifically designed for Windows 11.
Check Duplex Printing Settings in Word: Double-check the print settings in Microsoft Word. For book-fold printing, Word should manage the page layout correctly, but it's essential to verify that the settings match your desired output. Go to File > Print > Printer Properties (or similar) and look for a booklet or duplex printing option, ensuring it's set correctly.
Printer Properties Adjustment: In the Printer Properties or Preferences (accessible through the Control Panel or Windows Settings), ensure that the duplex printing option is set correctly. Sometimes, adjusting the binding option (left or right) can affect the order pages are printed for booklet printing.
Manual Duplex Printing: If automatic duplex printing doesn't work as expected, you can try manual duplex printing. This process involves printing one side of the pages first, then reinserting the paper into the printer to print the other side. While more labor-intensive, it can be a temporary workaround to achieve the correct order. Instructions for manual duplex printing are usually available in the printer's user manual or help resources.
Use HP Printing Software: If you're not already, try using HP's proprietary printing software. HP Smart or other HP printing applications might offer more precise control over printing preferences and better compatibility with your printer model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
