LaserJet M1212nf MFP
macOS 10.14 Mojave

Hi,

I have a LaserJet M1212nf MFP for several years now. Since I upgraded macOS to Mojave (currently on 10.14.2) I am unable to scan. Printing works just fine, only the scan option is broken... When using 'HP easy scan', the app looks like it's scanning (progress bar is moving forward) but actually it's not (no preview of the document). When trying to scan via mac's 'Preview' app, I get a preview of the document but when I try to scan it I get an error that the file is corrupted...

Can someone help??

Hi,

Please install the latest printer firmware by following below utility, restart the printer and check if you may then see any difference:

Hi,

I've installed the firmware, restarted the printer but the issue remains... Any other ideas?

Go into Applications -> Image capture. The printer should show up in  the device window. On the lower right, click Show Details. You'll be able to adjust the settings. I tried all the other hoops that tech support had people jump through then found a reply from HP with this advice and it worked.

I spoke too soon. It worked once. Once! Then didn't work again. HP, if I have to buy a new machine because you can't keep up with MAC OS updates, it isn't going to be an HP device!

That's very dissapointing. I have to take photos with my cell phone in order to "scan" documents. The MFP is almost useless now. HP - never again!

HP, we need a solution! Do you expect me to throw away the machine? Unacceptable!

I've been scanning documents using my phone and not via the scanner I own since I have no response from you guys at HP... embarrassing.
