Hello, 

 

I am reinstalling the drivers for my LaserJet MFP M225dn printer. The old " Full Software and Drivers" download contained OCR software. However, the currently available version excludes OCR software. After searching HP's software downloads and dead FTP links, I was unable to find OCR software. 

 

Where can I find the Win 10 x64 software/drivers needed to enable OCR functionality on my printer?

We understand you're looking to restore OCR (Optical Character Recognition) functionality for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dn on Windows 10 64-bit, and that the current full software package no longer includes OCR tools. We appreciate your diligence in searching for a solution.

1. Use HP Scan Software with OCR Support

The original full software package for the M225dn included HP Scan with built-in OCR capabilities. While newer packages may exclude this, you can still access OCR features by:

  • Installing the older full software suite (if available from backup or archived sources).
  • Using HP Scan Extended or HP Easy Scan (if previously bundled).

2. Alternative HP OCR Tools

If the original OCR module is unavailable:

  • Use HP App (limited OCR support via cloud scanning).
  • Use Readiris OCR HP previously bundled this with some LaserJet models. You may need to purchase or contact HP Support for access.
