LaserJet driver for iMac mini

Bought a new Mac Mini running OS 15.3 and cannot get my LaserJet 1020 to print. Apple was no help, so seeing if there is a work around. I have had this LaserJet for many years, it is an incredible workhorse and do not want to put it out to pasture. Any help is appreciated.

For printer install try Laserjet essentials driver:

 I dowloaded the package and installed it but I don't see any different driver options in my list of drivers.   I was looking for something in the "essentials" or the 1020 or 1022 family but don't see anything different.  Is there a specific drive from a that list that you would suggest?

I tried the pacifist and it tells me I don;t have access permissions to just about every folder and it won't let me actually finish the extract..  I tried the alternate driver and it says it is instated properly but I still don't see a driver labeled essentials.  It did give me bunch of new driver options and  I have tried all of the ole school post script drivers and the PCL drivers and they all look successful but nothing prints. 

I have the driver form my old Mac and I tried to copy it from the library and PPD folder but that driver says it I installed incorrectly so I'm missing something there, I guess you can't just upload the driver file like I used to do on my PC back in the day :). 

Any other thoughts on what I might be looking for in the driver list that I could uses as a substitute or what the essentials drive is titled on the add printer driver list?
