I have a Laserjet 100 color MFP M175nw and my computer is a Mac with macOS 15 Sequoia. I am having an issue that seems pretty common for people with a HP printer/scanner combo and a Mac running Sequoia. Just googling the issue, there are many people having the same issue with no resolution. My Mac has no problems recognizing the laserjet as a printer but it wont recognize the laserjet as a scanner. Scanning is the problem. I've read multiple posts and tried all the "solutions" that seem to be copy and pasted to no avail... so before you just copy and paste again for this post I'll let you know everything that I have done.
My macOS is up to date.
All my Software and apps are up to date.
I have downloaded the latest HP Easy Scan.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and drivers as well as HP Easy Scan multiple times.
My connection to the Laserjet is fine as the Printer part of the Printer/Scanner combo is recognized and I can print without a problem. Not recognizing the scanner is the problem.
I have restarted the printer and my computer multiple times as well as reset the network settings.
I cannot use the built in mac Image Capture or Preview app to bypass the HP Easy Scan since the scanner is not recognized so it does not show up as a device for Image Capture or Preview.
I have enabled permissions under system preferences for HP Easy scan as well as every other HP app. I have also toggled it off restarted then toggled it back on then restarted and it has no effect.
The issue seems to be that the scanner portion of the all in one is not recognized. The printer is recognized and works fine. I tried everything that was recommended in all the other posts with the same issue, is there anything I missed?
Is there an app update to HP Easy Scan in the works to address this issue?
