Product: Laserjet 1320
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I wanted to update my Laserjet 1320 with the latest firmware. I installed and ran Download Manager(Ver 4.30) It identifies my printer as J8021A, current firmware V.40.06, needed V.41.19. When I select upgrade now, the Firmware Upgrade Results shows Successful upgrades:0 , Upgrade Failures:0.  Firmware upgrade is complete. It does not appear that the needed firmware version is being downloaded by the Download Manager.

I realize now that the Download Mgr has identified my Jetdirect EW2500 as needing the upgrade, not the 1320 printer.

I see that the firmware file has been downloaded, but the Jetdirect has not been upgraded. I did a Chat and was told there is no firmware upgrade for the 1320.

Well, I just used a browser, logged into the Jetdirect, stumbled around, and was able to upgrade the firmware.

 

It's strange that after all these years there was no firmware upgrades for the 1320 though.

I will try and give some information.As far as i know firmware is only updated should there be some short fall to the printers abilities.Then they rewrite new firmware to upgrade the printer to resolve problems if there was any.Hope this will help.
