Hello,
Until 2 days ago, my printer Laserjet M1212nf MFP s was working on my Windows 11 computer, then suddenly the printer was not detected by my computer. So i have first deleted the existing printer application from the computer and re-install it. During re-installing, i pluged the USB cable of the printer into my computer and printer started in initializing phase with blinking the starting light (green) and the attention light (orange color). Some seconds after the third light in the queue also blinks in orange. Could someone help me how i can fix this issue?
I have already tried the below suggestions, but nothing has changed:
- plugging off all the cables while the printer is on, and then plugging in again
- Pressed and hold down CANCEL (X) and Start Copy (button just below the X button) buttons at the same time while powering on printer until the printer display reads PERMANENT STORAGE INIT. Released the buttons afterward, but it continued to stuck on initialization with the warning lights on.
Many thanks!

Hi @Gekkim,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
I understand the printer is stuck on initializing screen.
Try the below suggestions -
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
If the error persists, We can perform a factory default on the printer to resolve the issue
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
