Hello,

I would like to obtain access to the network configuration. In the MAC OSX within printer settings, through system preferences, i first select the printer , and double click on the printer. This opens the printer configuration page (MOC OSX menu) then select tab "Maintenance" , which opens the HP printer Utility, which allows me to make changes to IPv4; IPv6, Bonjour and Other settings. Then i select "Other settings". After this step i get an option to click "Extra network setting" upon clicking i am redirected to web page with the IP address of the printer.

In order to get access i am requested to provide a login and password. The printer has always been in my possession and pretty sure there was never a password set.

In short : How to get access to the printer via the IP address ?? Which login to use and which password ?

Also looked for PIN numbers on any of the stickers inside and on the back of the printer.

Any help appreciated.

Also in case of reset of the printer, which defaults will be applicable for the login and password.

Best regards

The easiest way to access the embedded web server is to type in the IP address in your browser. As far as logging in. The default from HP on this series is username admin and a blank password. If you are being prompted for a password other than that it was one set by someone and if you have no access your only solution is to perform a partial clean or cold reset through the preboot service menu through the control panel on the printer.

Repairatrooper,

Thanks for you quick response. I tried as you suggested, unfortunately no access. I am pretty sure i never set a password as i mentioned in my mail, i am the first and only user, printer is placed in a home network.
Anyway will try the cold reset.
