Hello, I have just performed a firmware update to my M102w LaserJet Pro, according to the progress bar on the update application, the update completed, with a yellow smiley face at the end, however the printer no longer functions, the green attention light and the wifi lights are permanently illuminated. My PC no longer recognises it when the USB lead is connected, my router does not recognise the device on wifi either. Even I've try on a MacBook but it is the same. How do I recover from this ?

@jassmx, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Kindly refer to this document to troubleshoot blinking lights issue on the printer. If the issue persists, let us perform a factory reset on the printer as the issue started after updating the firmware.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Try the below steps to perform NVRAM reset on the printer.
-
- With the device off, depress and hold the [Go] button.
- Power on the device and hold [GO] button for 20 seconds. When the ready led turns on, release the [GO] button.
I hope that helps.

Good thing I found this thread. I'm sorry it failed.
Will not be updating my firmware, afterall. The MAC vesion of the firmware update won't work, which is a blessing in disguise. It keeps saying DEVICE IS CURRENTLY BUSY (when it isn't). When the printer dies, will junk it and replace with something more current and updated. Even HP website says they don't support the printer anymore.
Firmware Datecode: 20160908
OS Catalina 10.15.6

Did you try a NVRAM reset on the printer?
I have sent you a private message with the reset instructions. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
If the issue persists, this could be a hardware failure.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
