Hi,

suddenly my (not so old : 2020) laserjet p2055d has become unreachable.

Connection : USB

None of my PCs can detect it, inclusive of Windows PCs. However the printing stuff still works, by example I can print demo pages from the printer panel.

Hi @Out_of_order_FR 

1. First check that USB cable is in good order and connected back in the printer.

2.  Maybe you need to change for a new USB cable just for testing function.

3. Then try to install the next software for your printer:

>> https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL33803/lj-84301-3/P2050-full-solution-AM-EMEA1-v6.1.exe

 

* Click YES   to say thank you,

Thank you very much!
I've tried all that, but without success so far.
Perhaps another level in the communication chain (for example, an electronic card on the printer side).

Additional question, seemingly stupid: the message “toner almost empty” appears on the screen. Furthermore, it is not original HP toner. Is it possible that this could cause a blockage?

1. Well, yes it could be that electronic card for USB connections has a failure and you need to take to a repair shop to check electronics operation.

 

2. About the toner empty, that is something different and usually that is another issue.

 

3. Maybe you need to replace toner, but first you need to take printer to a service repair to check USB connection.
