The Left output bin of the LaserJet 8000DN is not supported by Universal Driver in Windows 10 or 11. It is supported by the Windows XP driver. There is no output tab to select the output bin. I have tried both the PCL5 version and the PS version. You can't print on cardstock unless you use tray 1 for input and the left output bin for output. Does anyone have a fix for this? Is this a configuration problem? Thank you, -JaySailing_

You fail to state which version of driver you are using. The 8000 series is listed a fully supported for the current V7.3 UPD driver. I have no way to test for you as I have no laserjet 8000 series and have not worked on one in at least 5 years. Great printer in it's day.

About says: HP Universal Printing PS (61.310.1.25919) UPD Version 7.3.0.25919 Which I Believe is the current version. There is no "Output" tab on the printing preferences even though the basic printer comes with 2 output bins.

That is the current version and the 8000 is still listed as supported. Have you checked the configuration options under the device settings of the driver? There might be a setting there that needs to be manually enabled such as shown below

No guarantee on that, as I have not touched one of these in over 5 years.

Thank you for your help. I have tried several of the choices but none of them send the output to the left output bin. None of the descriptions match the Left Output Bin. This is from the user manual:

The printer has several output locations: the Standard Output Bin, the Left
Output Bin, and the optional...

The Left Output Bin, located on the upper left side of the printer, holds up to
125 sheets of paper face up as they exit the printer. This bin is mainly used for
special paper types, such as labels, envelopes, or transparencies, that cannot
tolerate the curved paper path of the Standard Output Bin. This output bin
does not sense when the bin is full.
You can select an output bin through your software application, printer driver,
or from the printer control panel.

The universal driver does not seem to have a bin in the list that matches the "Left Output Bin"
