Have you checked the HP Linux site: Lists the printer as supported.

It is not bout installing printer drivers or printer into Linux, that is quite fast and automatic. But the printer is blocked until you set it up and you do this only through Windows (or Mac). Once printer is set up inside HP system, registered, pind, agreed to all sort of stuff, then you can connect USB to Linux machine and disconnect printer's ethernet connection. And it works just fine. But that's just crazy policy. It suppose to work out of the box, not requiring Windows in order to make hardware accessible to linux. I am really so disappointed in HP right now. It is unnecessary procedure that smells like agenda.
