Product: Envy 5540
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,
I've been given an Envy 5540.
*I don't know what category it comes under, out of Inkjet or Laserjet.
*My friend upgraded her HP printer and gave me her old one. She has an Instant Ink account, I don't seem to be able to access that option for myself.
*I have tried a total factory reset, still no joy. Can't even do a test print. Printer window gives message: "Cartridge cannot be used until printer id enrolled in HP Instant Ink" She gave me nearly new cartridges!
*My account on this desktop PC and my laptop give message: 'Incompatible cartridge'. This persists even when I try to register for Instant Ink.
*I did see an option somewhere in the website account page called, Friends and Family. Is this something I could be added to via her HP account to get Instant Ink?

Actually, it's all ok. I found what I needed and I'm now enrolled with Instant Ink.
What a noob! 🙄😆
