Hi @IP23 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP Deskjet 1010 is a basic printer that typically does not have a network interface or an IP address, as it is usually connected directly to a computer via a USB cable. This model is generally not equipped with Wi-Fi or Ethernet capabilities, so it doesn’t have an IP address.

Here’s what you can try to resolve your issue:

Check the USB Connection: Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected between your printer and Chromebook. Sometimes, simply unplugging and replugging the cable can resolve connection issues.

Restart Devices: Restart your printer and Chromebook. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix connectivity problems.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Chromebook. You can usually find the drivers through the HP website or the Chromebook’s built-in printer settings.

Re-add the Printer: Go to your Chromebook’s settings and remove the printer from the list of connected printers. Then, add it again. Here’s how:

  • Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
  • Click on Add Printer and select your HP Deskjet 1010 from the list.

Check Printer Status: Make sure the printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages.

Refer to this document: HP Deskjet 1010 Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
