OfficeJet Pro 7740

The standard printer driver does not support A3 paper. Spending some time with google, I found the following recommendation:

HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One series Basic Driver - IT Professional Use only

The Software can be found on this page:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-officejet-pro-7740-wide-format-all-in-one-printer-series/768...

Well, it turned out, I am able to print A3, however, this driver won't allow me to define custom paper sizes....the "Custom" button is simply not there.

Isn't there a driver that does both, support A3 AND will allow me to create custom paper size's ? If there is, can this driver be used for both W10 and W11 ?

Any help would be most appreciated

Just to clarify something. The IT professional use and the standard driver are the same. The only difference is the Professional is designed for manual printer installation instead of automatic installation. If you have features missing or not accessible it is usually due to either a permissions issue with your windows account or a feature on the printer has not activated when installed. You can check this by on your computer going to control panel>right click on devices and printers and select open from the drop down menu. Then right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties. Click on the device settings tab and scroll down and make sure that all relevant features are showing as installed or enabled.

The other reason that you might not have had A3 listed is if Microsoft hijacked your install and installed the Microsoft IPP driver instead of the HP driver.

Thank you very much for getting back to me.

@Microsoft IPP driver

Nope, not the case. The HP driver is selected within "Printer Properties" -> "Advanced"

@Options within "Printer Properties" -> "Device Settings"

There is no option I could activate in order to see the missing "Custom" button

@Permission

Installation has been made using a local Admin account. Is there anything I coud verify / adjust ?
