HP OfficeJet Pro 8730
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All,

I have inadvertently (not sure how I did it) deleted the Print (copy) icon from the screen on my 8730 printer.  So now the only quick print icon option via the printer is to "Print Document (USB)".  My only other option is to have keep switching my computer on and use scan and print option.  I've tried seeking a solution to this but can't find anything....so, does anyone know how I can get this icon restored back onto my printers screen?

Thanks,

Nige

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's reset the Printer:

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). 2. Touch Printer Maintenance . 3. Touch Restore. 4. Touch Restore Factory Defaults. A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored. 5. Touch Restore.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Betty,

I followed your instructions exactly, but the simple print (copy) icon, has not reappeared on the screen.  I also tried unplugging the machine and switching back on without any luck.  Do you have any other suggestions that I could try please?

Thanks

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Hi Betty,

Ok, I just carried out the instructions to complete a Printer Update and the printer says that "The most current updates have already been installed....".

This is proving to be a challenge!!

When you perform a reset, the back arrow icon is not on the screen, it's outside of the screen on the bottom left. If it's not lit up, it's ok.
