Hi @Ball1951,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's frustrating when a previously working printer suddenly stops functioning despite your efforts to troubleshoot. Several factors could be causing the issue, including software updates, driver conflicts, connectivity problems, or hardware malfunctions. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of both your computer and the printer can resolve minor glitches. Turn off both devices, wait a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
- Check Connections: Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to your computer are securely plugged in. If you're using a wireless connection, check that the printer is connected to the correct network and that there are no connectivity issues.
- Update Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can usually find these on the HP website. Sometimes, outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing problems.
- Printer Troubleshooting: Most printers have built-in troubleshooting utilities that can help diagnose and fix common issues. Check your printer's manual or visit the HP website for instructions on how to access these tools.
- Check for Updates: Verify if there have been any recent software updates for your operating system or printer firmware. Installing the latest updates might resolve compatibility issues.
- Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to its factory settings. This can often resolve various problems. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Test with Another Device: If possible, try connecting your printer to another computer or device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem is with the printer or your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
