Hi @Ninanins ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Update the firmware on an HP printer
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet Plus 4158 All-in-One Printer is not printing despite having new ink cartridges installed, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
- Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the new ink cartridges are installed correctly and that the protective tape or cover on the cartridges has been removed.
- Print Quality Diagnostic: Most printers have a print quality diagnostic test that you can run. This will help identify any issues with the printer's hardware or settings. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to run this diagnostic.
- Printer Drivers: Make sure that the printer drivers on your computer are up to date. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing problems.
- Paper Jam: Check for any paper jams or obstructions in the printer's paper path. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause printing issues.
- Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to reset it.
- Check Print Queue: Make sure that there are no pending print jobs in the print queue. If there are, try canceling them and then try printing again.
- Connection Issues: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If you're using a wireless connection, try connecting the printer via USB to see if that resolves the issue.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs or compatibility issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
