Hi,

I just came to my grandfather to solve his printing issues. I opened the web setup page using printer IP address, went to change some settings, but it was locked behind admin password.

The printer has been set up by a technician a long time ago. So, we do not know the admin password.

I proceeded with the standard procedure - hard reset to obtain the default admin password. However, this printer is so f**king dumb and the reset option is also locked behind admin password.

Who designed this? This is the dumbest solution I have ever seen. The printer doesn't seem to have another way of getting the default factory settings. What should I do now?!!

Turn the printer OFF, press and hold the X button and the down arrow. Turn the printer ON, and keep the 2 buttons pressed, wait, and the display should show NU or something like that, release the buttons. That should reset it to factory.
