Hardware - Color LaserJet MFP M281cdw
Operating Environment - Win10Pro64 & Win10Home64, both fully updated.  (Probably irrelevant, since I'm not connecting a computer to the printer yet.)

Receiving consistent Scanner Error 13.  Scanner light bar is not moving, acts almost as if locked.  Have also gotten an Error 17 (I don't recall if it was a Scanner Error or a System Error, I only got it once) and a Scanner Error 23.

I don't recall what system software level I'm running - and I obviously can't check, since I can't get in.  I've done all the basic troubleshooting stuff that was recommended by the Virtual Agent to no avail (power-cycle, unplug with power ON, change outlets, there's no power bar installed at the moment, ...)

I have recently moved the printer (we're in a hotel room right now,) but the printer was not jostled about and didn't have anything heavy piled atop it that I know of.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

This error occurs when the scanner motor is unable to find the home position. I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this is a hardware issue.
