Printer just went through a firmware update. After that duplex no longer worked. I removed, reinstalled latest driver. I went to settings, devices, printer & scanners, selected printer, manage, printer properties, device settings, selected duplex unit to installed.   Still will not print duplex.  Could the firmware block that on my printer?

Hello @foust61 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Only if a duplexer is installed:

Spoiler

Search Windows for 'devices', and then click the Devices and Printers control panel setting in the results.
Right-click the icon for your printer model, and then
click Device Settings tab
Installable Options > Duplexer: installed

If not, change to installed.

Hi@Valsimot ,

you are right, this printer does not have a duplexer.
Only manual duplexing is possible.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The M452nw supports manual duplex only, can you confirm that you before firmware update used manual duplex ( not automatic).

Manual duplex is driver supported only there is nothing in the firmware that can turn OFF/ON manual duplex.

I would have sworn it was working automatic duplexing prior to the firmware update.  Manual duplex is all I get out of it now. I guess I'll live with the manual duplex. Thank you for helping.
