M527
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This MFP is very problematic to install and configure. Most likely it is from the advanced security capabilities.

The full or basic web pack usually enable printing and or scanning, but both only work a few times before they fail to function.

The printer goes offline and can't resume

Scanning fails with either  "The HP imaging device was not found" or, on another system where the scan to network folder was configured to try and get this working, it directs the user to go to the scanner control panel to select the job - tried deleting this job, tried a factory reset - keeps coming back.

Ideally I want end users to be able to scan directly to their local storage, without leaving their desk to go the scanner. This has not been accomplished so far beyond the initial setup scan

This behavior occurs on all three units, across multiple devices - laptops and desktops.

The M527 is capable of scanning directly to a network folder and that is what it is designed to do. That way you do not have to start the software, go load a document and then go back and press scan before someone else does. It is a business class machine and designed to work in a business environment. Configure as such and you will not have problems.

Thank you for the reply.

Is it not possible to manage the scanning to a local folder from the PC? The control panel on the device is a cumbersome interface that takes too many steps.
