Product: HP LaserJet Pro M404dw
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and older

I am unable to reinstall this printer, it doesnt recognize it. I have downloaded the software but it keeps saying no printer was found to add in the printers&scanners configuration. I have tried wireless and with ethernet cable to no avail. Please help

Since it isn't being detected over either wifi or Ethernet, check whether the printer itself has a valid network connection and IP address. If the printer shows an IP address, try adding it manually in Printers & Scanners using the IP address instead of relying on automatic discovery.

Also, make sure the installed driver/software is compatible with your version of macOS. If you can share the exact macOS version you're currently using and whether the printer shows an IP address on its network settings page, that would help narrow down whether this is a network discovery or driver compatibility issue.
