I am trying to connect my Envy 5540 to my MAC. The Envy is setup and working on a couple of PCs and for the iPADs but connecting my MAC has been an issue. I have tried all the troubleshooting, printed the wireless network test, etc, restarted everything on router, printer, MAC in that order. But when I try and run the Envy software on my MAC is does not find the printer.
I have had this issue for awhile and I really want to go to one printer in my house as buying ink and space for two printers is a waste of space and money.
I am running MAC OS Sierra version 10.12.5. I have downloaded the latest HP Easy Start software ... still the MAC does not see the printer. I know the printer is setup and operating on the network as it prints flawlessly from the PCs and iPADs.

@KeithVillager
Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy 5540 Printer. I understand that connect the printer to your Mac wirelessly and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
Restart the computer, printer, and router.
Manually connect the printer to your network.
Reset the print system.
-
Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.
-
Depending on your version of OS X, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
-
Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, then click Reset printing system.
Figure : Resetting the print system
-
Click Reset in the confirmation window.
-
Enter the Administrator name and password, then click OK.
-
Wait for the printing system to reset. When complete, no printers should display in the list.
Uninstall the HP software.
-
Click Finder
in the Dock.
-
In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, then open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.
-
If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double click it, then follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.
-
If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue to the next step.
-
-
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
-
In the menu bar, click Go, click Go to Folder, type /Library/Printers, then click Go.
The Printers folder opens.
-
Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.
-
Restart the Mac.
-
Right-click or Ctrl + click the Trash icon, then select Empty Trash.
Reinstall the HP software.
-
Turn on the printer.
-
If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the computer.
-
If prompted, select a method to identify your printer model, then follow the on-screen instructions to go to the downloads page.
-
Click Download next to HP Easy Start or next to the full feature driver, depending on the option that displays.
-
Open the Downloads folder, then open the HP Easy Start file or the full feature driver .dmg file to begin the installation.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer connection and install the software.
-
When prompted by the installer, click Add Printer to create a print queue on the Mac.
The Add window opens.
-
Click the name of your printer, click the Use or Print Using menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu, then click Add.
Figure : Select your printer name in the Use menu on the Add screen
-
Return to the HP installer to complete the installation.
Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

Thanks Sandy for taking the time to respond. I tried every step twice now and still cannot see the Envy 5540 printer. Also my MAC does not let me reset the printer system by right clicking on the blank space in the printer list. I get no option or secondary window to make any choices.
Let me know if you have other options for me.
